PARTNERS ENGAGE FOR STUDENT SUCCESS
Organizations establishing partnerships with Bowie State University are going beyond just writing a check. Many are now going to the next level to engage their employees with students and faculty both on the campus and at their business sites to share expertise and foster relationships that enhance business success. These new reciprocal relationships benefit both the university and the partner organizations and open doors of opportunity for our graduates.
PRIVATE SUPPORT TRANSFORMS THE CAMPUS
NELSON WELLS LEGACY SOCIETY
The Legacy Society is named for Nelson Wells, the formerly enslaved citizen who, before his death, directed that funds from his estate be used to support the education of free colored children. The last funds from Well’s estate were donated to the Baltimore Normal School for Colored Teachers in 1871 becoming the first planned gift to what is today known as Bowie State University. The Nelson Wells Legacy Society recognizes and celebrates individuals who have named Bowie State University in their estate planning.
